EXCEPT for a last-minute change, the National Consultative Front will unveil on October 1 its new mega political movement in preparation for the legislative elections of 2023.
NC Front media and public affairs chief Dr Yunusa Tanko confirmed the development in a phone interview with The punch, in Abuja, Thursday.
He said: “The 2nd National Rescue Summit will be held on October 1, 2021 to commemorate the 61st anniversary of Nigeria’s independence and for the Front NC General Assembly to officially adopt its new mega political movement.
The group also said it would take the opportunity to remember its leaders who passed away during the cause of the year. Some to remember include: the Chairman of the NC Front Elders Advisory Council, the late Dr Ahmed Joda, the late Mallam Balarabe Musa, Innocent Chukwuma, Lady Rachel Oniga, among others.
Our correspondent learned that the group has adopted a political party and is working to reshape it to fit into its philosophy of providing a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
