The shoemakers remain in discussion with the candidates for the post of deputy director
The shoemakers continue to speak with several candidates about the vacant post of deputy manager.
The club have confirmed they will seek an ‘external’ date for the role after Jon Brady was appointed manager on a permanent basis earlier this month.
Brady has spoken to plenty of candidates but, with six weeks into preseason, he’s in no rush to sign a number two.
“I wouldn’t say it’s research,” he said. “I have spoken to a few people and these discussions are ongoing, but we are in no rush to do anything.
“The candidates are very high level, but we have to make sure that everything is in place and that we get our roster right before we move on to the players.
“We’ve been every day and almost every hour of the day, but we’re working hard to make sure everything is in place for us to come back for preseason training.”
Brady has already started working with Martin Foyle, the club’s new hiring manager.
He added: “Martin knows Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 very well and he also knows the club and a lot of players at this level. He works in Scotland but they recruit their players from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 and he had an excellent run, a record of bringing in players and those players are doing well.
“He played the game to a high standard and when you talk to people he’s very well respected so all in all he was a fantastic candidate. We’ve just started this journey together but we’re both working really hard on it. achieve it. the best players we can. “
