STATEMENT: Minister Mbayo accused of forging Luuka’s delegate list to attend Museveni swearing-in ceremony – Red Pepper Uganda
A section of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in Luuka district called on their National Party chairman, who also serves as president of Uganda, to rule over presidential minister Esther Mbayo for s’ be a mingling of the selection delegates attending the first swearing-in ceremony.
Museveni will be sworn in on Thursday, March 12 as Ugandan head of state at the Kololo independence ceremonial ground in the capital, Kampala, as part of strict COVID-19 prevention measures, according to officials from the government.
Around 4,000 guests are expected to attend Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony for another term, including former presidential candidates after the former won the January 14 presidential elections.
However, a cold war broke out between Minister Mbayo and NRM leaders in Luuka district after the former allegedly usurped DRC region powers Lilian Nakaweesa and falsified the names of participants in the swearing-in ceremony.
“ Mbayo being the boss of the DRC influenced the forgery and as we speak now, real delegates have been replaced by Mbayo supporters in the district, an issue we want to bring to the attention of the president and the secretary general, ” one of the district party’s female cadres revealed.
According to sources, Mbayo would have influenced the handling of the list for those attending the porterage ceremony and included Nagaya Jaberi as NRM vice president, Namaganda Sarah as C / p Women league, Nyende Richard as secretary General, Muzilu Harunah as C / Youth Counselor, Ntogona Rogers as Historical and Kauta Akabwayi.
This is what is killing our party and this iconic Fraud must stop. If the ministers can seize the powers of the district structure and use it for the benefit of their political ambitions, it means that the future of our party is in ruins. A lot of stealthy names are aiming for an allowance to occupy positions that are not theirs, “ said one of the leaders of the NRM who preferred anonymity.
Procedurally, those supposed to attend the presidential inauguration of the NRM structure in Luuka district include; Mulumba Meddie –President, Matende Thomas-Vice-president, Luwangula Baker –Secretary, Namaganda Sarah Ntumba- Treasurer and Kisame Ben-Publicité.
Others are league presidents; Ngobi Badiru -Elderly, Mbayo Esther -Women, Waiswa Joseph-Youth, Kawuka Ismail-Veterans, Bikumbi Ronald-Workers, Bogere Muhamadi- Entrepreneur, Mutalya David-PWDs, Kasango-V / C Youth league, Adonia Mafumoc / p Youth council and Ms. Katende V / c female league.
‘We were shocked when the president of the youth council visited the district for a covid-19 test only to be told his name had been changed. Many genuine members have been deceptively replaced to favor Mbayo Mobilizers ”,
Despite having a minister as president, Luuka is one of the districts where President Museveni, the party’s flagship in the January 2021 polls, performed poorly, raising concerns about mobilization efforts in the region.
We couldn’t get Mbayo at press time because she would have attended a very important meeting.
