No honeymoon for Nigeria’s next president – Political Movement

The People’s Alternative Political Movement (TPAP-M) has said there will be no honeymoon for whoever becomes Nigeria’s next president in 2023.

The group has pledged to hold a debate for all presidential candidates, adding that it will ensure that those with a capitalist agenda are eliminated.

Speaking at a press conference and unveiling of their movement in Abuja, one of the leaders Comrade Jaye Gaskia said Nigerian society should be communist adding that capitalism has done a lot of damage to the country.

He said: “After 22 years of ruthless rule and looting of the treasury, the policies of the capitalist system over which they presided have only had disastrous consequences of catastrophic dimensions.

“The impact of the exploitative capitalist system on people here at home and around the world has always resulted in disasters, from the ever-increasing cost of living, leading to a cost-of-living crisis, to the worsening of the pandemic of insecurity, the story of death and destruction continues to be the lot of workers and toiling masses,” Gaskia revealed.

Regarding the purpose of their engagement during this period, Gaskia said it was to raise the banner of socialism and change the narrative during the elections and shift the focus from politicians to the people.

He added that the group seeks to mobilize Nigerians in the movement so that they can organize and have a voice and the ability to push back and resist bad policies now and after the 2023 elections.
