The highly anticipated Third Force Mega political party, a coalition of political parties brought together by the National Consultative Front (NCFront), to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 will hold its congresses, primaries, and a convention to elect its flag bearers for the general elections from April to May.
This was announced on Sunday in a statement signed by the group’s spokesperson, Ms Bilikis Bello.
NCFront, which has yet to unveil the political party platform it will use in 2023, said its party of choice will be announced this week in Abuja.
The group led by Professor Attahiru Jega, former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Pat Utomi, Political Economist and former Presidential Adviser among other civil society and labor movements also gave terms and conditions Governors, ministers, midshipmen, legislators and other politicians who wish to join the NCFront fold must fulfill.
She said: “Given intense pressure and numerous inquiries from political gladiators across the country, including former and serving governors, aspirants, cabinet ministers, federal and state legislators, among others, disenchanted with the failure of the current system in Nigeria, the leadership of the Fusion Council of the Third Force Mega Party said it would access and thoroughly screen defectors and new entrants to ensure full acceptance and adherence to the political charter of the recently adopted Third Force demand to mobilize the peoples and workers of Nigeria for the 2023 electoral revolution to save and reset Nigeria.
Speaking at a virtual NCFront consultative conference, Bello said the mega political party of choice will be unveiled within the week in Abuja, after which a collection of applications and expressions of interest forms will be open to future party leaders at all levels as well as the party’s aspiring candidates for the 2023 general election.
She also revealed that a special concession will be given to women, youth and people living with disabilities (PLWD).
She further stated, “The unveiling of Third Force Mega Party will be immediately followed by the collection of nominations and expressions of interest forms from future party leaders at all levels and aspiring party candidates, prior to the party conventions. combined, the primaries and the party’s national convention. should be held between the second week of April and the end of May in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Expression of Interest Forms and Nomination Forms for Future Party Officers and Aspiring Third Force Candidates will be open for collections from Monday, April 4 through Thursday, April 14, 2022. However, approval of the processing fee for expression of interest and Nomination forms and concessions to be given to women, youth and aspirants with physical disabilities shall be given by the Implementation and Harmonization Committee.”
According to her, the all-inclusive Implementation and Harmonization Committee formed by the NCFront Merger Board will also serve as the Third Force Mega Party National Convention Coordinating Committee to oversee and oversee the successful planning of its National Convention while that the State Implementation and Harmonization Committees, which will be announced this week, will serve as state congressional committees for the purpose of coordinating its state congresses.
NCFront called on Nigerians who want change from what he called unprecedented mismanagement and desperation to register with him and also offer their service in the quest to save Nigeria.
