The majority of U.S. crypto investors who are registered to vote support one political party over another, according to a new survey from venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz.
The Silicon Valley-based company, also known as a16z, commissioned the survey from data intelligence firm Morning Consult, which interviewed 2,191 registered voters in the United States online from December 1-3. .
One in five respondents said they own a cryptocurrency. Among this group of crypto owners, 61% said they voted for President Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee in the 2020 election, compared to just 32% who said they voted for former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.
Biden also retained a 64% approval rating of crypto owners at the time of the survey, compared to a 36% disapproval rating.
Additionally, crypto owners are a large and growing constituency within the Democratic Party. Twenty-six percent of self-identified Democrats say they own crypto.
Almost 80% of those polled said they would be more likely to support a candidate who “supports the expansion of Web3″ and 64% of those polled said they agreed with the statement that ” digital assets are the future of finance ”.
