Majority of delegates were not “unhappy” with Romney
I am a Republican state delegate and attended the Republican Party convention on May 1.
Reports in Deseret News and The Salt Lake Tribune described the crowd as “loud.” It was more than noisy. It was derogatory, disrespectful, hateful and proud.
Emilie de Azevedo Brown was quoted about the disrespectful “hoot” that took place with several of the speakers, including Mitt Romney. Brown said, “If the point of this censorship is to let Romney know we’re upset, I promise you, he knows it.”
The failure of the censorship resolution shows that the majority of state delegates apparently did not want to “let Romney know they were unhappy.” Please don’t lump all Republicans into your mistaken thinking, Mrs. Brown. You may be the loudest and loudest, but you don’t represent all of us.
What I hope Senator Romney knows is that while some of the Republican delegates may have been unhappy, many – indeed, apparently a majority – are not.
