Lawmaker warns against imposing delegates –
House of Representatives (APC-Sokoto) Alhaji Balarabe Salame warned All Progressives Congress stakeholders against imposing delegates in state elections.
The lawmaker said this during a meeting with stakeholders from the state’s 23 local government areas.
Salame, representing the Federal Constituency of Gwadabawa / Illela in Sokoto State and Chairman of the House Committee on Poverty Reduction, met with stakeholders in support of his aspiration for governor for the general election from 2023.
Its support group, Sokoto Vision 2023. led by Alhaji Bello Dogon-Daji, was in a meeting ahead of party congresses to ensure victory for like-minded delegates.
According to the lawmaker, imposition by CPA leaders will not bring any good for the party in the state, but will instead create disunity among members and generate total failure.
He said there was a need to end political sponsorship in the state and make that mentality a thing of the past.
Salame said: “Our people must be given the mandate to elect the leaders of their choice, who will improve their lives and provide the best leadership they need.
“I urge APC stakeholders in Sokoto to avoid any plans to impose not only delegates or party leaders, but also all other candidates who will stand for election under the party platform in the elections. following.
“The assumption that APC in Sokoto is divided is not true, but what we are saying is that we are against sponsorship and are working hard to ensure a better life for our people. “
Dogon-Daji said the intention of the movement’s stakeholders is in good faith to ensure that party candidates will be accepted by the people of the state to enable the APC to succeed in all the elections to come through. the state.
He urged APC members in the state to be vigilant and counter any act of imposition of candidates by anyone and to participate fully in upcoming party conventions across the state.
