The Kogi Central CSO Network (KC-Net) has set September 3 for the 2nd edition of the Kogi Central Senatorial Area Political Candidates Roundtable.
This was revealed in a statement jointly signed by its coordinator, Mohammed Bougei Attah and its secretary, Hajia Bilqis Ozigi, made available to Newsdiaryonline.
According to the statement, the roundtable aims to create a platform and common ground for potential representatives to learn and share innovative ways of delivering services to the population.
He added that the event will provide representatives with the opportunity to connect with voters as a social contract by learning and sharing manifestos and mandates.
He said, “The 2nd Annual Kogi Central Political Party Candidate Roundtable scheduled for September 03 in Okene will now be a HYBRID INTERFACE with on-site and virtual speech.
“The decision to move from the onsite meeting is informed by the current security challenges across the country as well as the rainy season.
“The event, which will be broadcast live via multiple media, will involve key stakeholders including political party candidates, party presidents and chairpersons, traditional leaders, non-state actors and selected members of the public. It will be hosted on the theme: social contract, political accountability and constituency relations.
“Already, more than 40 candidates from six (6) political parties and presidents have been contacted and mobilized for the event. The goal is to create a platform and common ground for potential representatives to learn and share innovative ways of delivering services to the population. It is also an opportunity to connect representatives and electorates as a social contract by learning and sharing manifestos and mandates.
The statement further disclosed that Professor Adam Ahmed Abere of the National War College will deliver the keynote address while the organizer and national coordinator of the first National Political Parties Summit, Dr Ahmed Badanga and other guests will deliver messages goodwill specials.
He also revealed that the event will be organized by Kogi Central CSO Network (KC-Net) in collaboration with Ebira Peoples Association, EPA, Ebira Youth Congress, EYC, Association of Ebira Professionals, AEP and Ebira Resource Academy, ERA. Others include Ebira World Wide, EWW, Positive Impact Initiative, PII and Positive House for Friends, PHF.
He added that the NGO network, a national civil society organization and Ki Izeiza TV will provide technical support.
