BANGKOK, June 12 (Xinhua) – As the ruling party in the most populous country in the world, the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) has achieved remarkable achievements and “sets a high standard for political parties in the region,” according to an official Thai party said.
In a recent interview with Xinhua, Nalinee Taveesin, president of foreign affairs of the Pheu Thai Party and advisor to the party leader, said that the CCP, with its 100-year history, has brought great inspiration to political parties in China. other countries.
She cited the CCP as a positive example that shows that “political parties must stay in touch with communities, serve the people, strengthen good governance and distribute wealth more equitably.”
The party official hailed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a remarkable innovation of the CPC, saying it will further promote cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN) in infrastructure and interconnection, and will bring prosperity to the region and the world.
Citing the China-Indochina Economic Corridor as an example, she said that a set of infrastructure projects connecting China and Southeast Asia under the BRI are currently under construction, which will help develop the regional trade, stimulate tourism and bring other economic benefits.
Taveesin also praised China’s contribution to the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that China has supported ASEAN countries by providing medical supplies and vaccines.
Looking ahead, Taveesin believes that China-ASEAN relations will become even stronger and that there is still enormous potential for cooperation between the two sides, as China has become the main engine of global economic growth, and ASEAN with its dynamics and a population that is about half the size of China is an attractive market.
Speaking about the global situation, Taveesin said one should always be careful about rising trends in protectionism and geopolitical tensions.
She hopes that the CPC and parties in Southeast Asian countries will play a greater role in responding to global challenges and work together to achieve greater achievements. ■
