The growth in the support and membership bases of the Labor Party (LP) and its presidential candidate for the fast approaching February 2023 general election, HE Peter Obi, is sure not to falter anytime soon.
And the chairman of the party in Anambra State, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh and his executive have always remained active and alert in doing the needful.
Yesterday, Chief Emeh, together with his exco, received former All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra State Governor candidate, Chief (Dr) Chike Obidigbo and his Osisioma Foundation , over 10,000 strong, who pledged full backing and support for Obi’s presidency. offer.
The statement, which came during a well-attended solidarity meeting with the LP at Umunya in Oyi Council of Anambra State, followed the inauguration of a new ward office equipped with the LP in Umuoji, Idemili North Council of the state by Emeh.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Obidigbo urged members of the Osisioma political movement and all Nigerians to put aside all form of overriding interests and feelings and support Peter Obi despite his membership in different political parties. He emphasized that supporting Obi in the presidential poll will not prevent anyone from voting for a party or party of their choice in state/National Assembly polls.
Obidigbo observed that citizens have been voting/behaving in a politically uncoordinated way for too long, which has contributed to the rejection of misfits as leaders.
According to him, “This foundation aims to transform and improve lives, and is part of all Anambra councils and is now spreading to all states with our message of transformation.
“We are neither a political party nor attached or affiliated with any particular political party. But we provide powerful support to parties and candidates. We are a group of distinguished professionals from various fields of practice – doctors, engineers, university professors, clergy, politicians 6, united by a common goal of good governance, quality leadership and representation, etc…” , added Dr. Obidigbo.
Emeh thanked them for choosing to support his LP and Obi, admitting the instant astronomical increase in support and party membership base was divine. He did, however, acknowledge that Peter Obi’s political record was similar.
Describing LP as the only one with humanity at heart, the state chairman pointed out that while other parties had inanimate objects as their logo, LP chose a man, his wife and his child. So we have human beings, especially family units as our sole focus.
He said LP is in every hamlet in Nigeria and what concerns every citizen concerns LP. He therefore urged everyone to join hands, to vote for Obi, as the next president in 2023.
During the inauguration of Umuoji Ward Office, located at Ekwulu Village Hall, Chief Emeh, while praising the big heart and support of Chief Paul Chinwe (aka Golden Governor) for donating the installation in the party, he called on the more richly endowed citizens to come forward to help the group in the direction of its choice.
He ordered that a member of staff be permanent in the new office to handle all daily needs and inquiries, including registration and issuing membership cards to new members.
Ward Chairman John Ilechukwu also praised Chief Chinwe for his help in the office. He expressed the neighborhood’s commitment and determination to wipe the slate clean in the 2023 elections.
Chief Chinwe said he wanted to see LP crush the other parties in the next presidential poll.
That it was for the purpose of recording a landslide victory that he had donated the parish office, that others were in reserve for the feast on his part.
