Rapper Folarin Falana aka Falz the bahd guy said the #EndSARS protest was never a political movement.
In an interview with ATERE TV, Falz, who led the #LekkiMemorial protest at the toll, pointed out that #EndSARS is not affiliated with any political party.
The lawyer-turned-singer said people were told to come out on the second anniversary of #EndSARS without any form of campaign material, as the movement is strictly pro-social justice.
While observing a peaceful march in honor of fallen heroes, the 31-year-old activist said he and others present were inspired to do so because justice has yet to be served for the lives lost during the the protest against police brutality two years ago. .
“We are here because justice has not been served. The people who committed these horrific crimes in October 2020 have not been punished. Nobody was brought to book. Why? Because they keep denying, let me say they are trying to deny that these things happened,” he said.
When asked for his response to those who keep saying #EndSARS is a political movement and not a social justice movement, he noted; “EndSars has never been a political movement. It has never been affiliated with any party.
“Even today we mentioned and told people not to bring political material because we are not here for a campaign.”
