Day 3 of early voting as New York City mayoral candidates Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa prepare for final debate
More than 30,000 New Yorkers have already voted.
Democratic candidate Eric Adams will be in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, to discuss quality of life issues with small business owners.
It was after a weekend of rallying voters that his opponent, Republican Curtis Sliwa did the same.
But the two have very different ideas on how to address the alarming spike in crime, with Sliwa calling for more shooting arrests.
“Three in four led men to shoot other people and were never arrested,” Sliwa said. “It’s like an advertisement to come to Brooklyn and carry out a shootout.”
“We keep talking about the crime that takes place on Lenox Avenue, but the crime takes place in the system where you see 5% of black and brown kids never achieve mastery,” Adams said. “If you don’t educate you will be incarcerated.
Eyewitness News anchor Bill Ritter will host the Mayor’s final debate Tuesday night at 7 p.m. on Channel 7.
