Claria Homechoice Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD) System
Homechoice Claria from Baxter International is an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) system with Sharesource web connectivity platform to treat pediatric and adult renal failure patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the home care setting.
The addition of Homechoice Claria to Baxter’s APD cycler portfolio will help bring the benefits of the Sharesource remote patient management platform to more clinics and patients in the United States.
Homechoice Claria follows a range of Baxter programs in its area of care to expand options for patients with renal failure, including the introduction of CKD & Me and the establishment of the PD Excellence Academy.
Homechoice Claria APD system approvals
The Homechoice Claria APD system with Sharesource received the European CE mark in April 2015.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted 510 (k) approval for the Homechoice Claria APD System with Sharesource in November 2020.
The approval follows the recent completion of the payment model for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) treatment options, which aims to dramatically increase the number of new kidney patients undergoing home dialysis or organ transplants.
