Candidates are slow to stand for the Lyon departmental elections
The number of applications started to increase in the department of Lyon. Which is good, but there are still a lot of incumbents to file and positions with few or no candidates.
The most recent to file are Jessie Niedfeldt, holder of Allen City Council, Jesse McKee, candidate for mayor of Americus, Billy Paige, holder of Reading City Council, Tammie Reed, holder of post 4 of District 1, 251 USD and Ryan Gasche, new to position 2, $ 252, all since Wednesday. . If the outgoing positions are not filled, either by the incumbents themselves or by others on the ballot, nominations by the respective councils would be the likely step.
On Friday afternoon, Admire City Council, Mayor Bushong and City Council, Hartford City Council Position 2, Mayor Neosho Rapids and Mayor Reading had no candidate. District 3 position 6 at $ 251 and position 3 at $ 252 also had no candidates on the ballot.
In Emporia, Susan Brinkman is the only city commission holder to stand for re-election – and is currently the only candidate on the ballot. Becky Smith hasn’t filed yet and Jon Geitz isn’t running. For the $ 253 school board, Mike Crouch is the only incumbent to deposit and is the only candidate on the ballot. The other licensees, Doug Epp and Melissa Ogleby, did not file a case.
