The Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande, wished the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, Chief Biodun Oyebanji success in the election to the governorship taking place today in Ekiti State.
Prof Akande, who spoke to reporters on the sidelines of a communications event in Abuja on Friday, noted that the APC remains the best political party to steer the affairs of Ekiti State and Nigeria in this stage.
Akande noted that under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC at the national level, Nigeria has been able to weather the storm of many challenges and the party needs the support of Nigerians to consolidate its gains.
Akande dismissed fears over the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, noting that the APC did well enough to triumph in the polls.
“I was at the APC carnival rally in Ekiti on Tuesday. The turnout of party worshipers and the enthusiasm they showed demonstrated the strength of the party in Ekiti State and indeed the whole country .
“The presence of the Presidential Flag Bearer and Party Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, has given a great boost to the will of party members in Ekiti State to deliver the state back to the party.
“As members of the APC, we have no doubt that we will emerge victorious from the election of Ekiti,” he concluded.
